V.F. McNeil Perched in First in Branford Rec Hoops League
V.F. McNeil stands in first place with a record of 3-0 through the first three weeks of play in the Branford Recreation Department Men’s Basketball League. V.F. McNeil improved to 3-0 by notching an 88-70 win over Trap Runner in Week 3 play. Trap Runner dropped to 2-1 and is in second place.
Tri-captain Jeff Allen scored 23 points to lead V.F. McNeil to its win versus Trap Runner. Ed Bethke netted 17 points, Tom Rapini had 15 points, and Blake Gatison scored 10 points for V.F. McNeil. Trap Runner was led by Dylan Palluzzi, who hit five three-pointers on his way to scoring 23 points. Joel Daniels scored 17, while Gordon Hill had 16 points for Trap Runner.
In another contest, Warner Construction improved to 1-2 after defeating G & G Earth Materials by the score of 59-55 in overtime. Adam Pahlsson scored five of his 20 points in the overtime stanza for Warner. Fellow tri-captain Ryan Adinolfi scored 11 points, and Bill Lee had 10 points for the victory. Andrew Johnson scored 25 points, while Dustin Ceccolini also had a big game by scoring 24 points for G & G (0-3).
