Modine Leads the Way in Week 16 of the Deep River Horseshoe League
Dave Modine led all A Division players with a score of 165 during Week 16 play in the Deep River Horseshoe League on July 27. Vinny Joynas followed in second with a score of 137, while Billy Beckwith took third place for the A shooters with a 127 in Week 16.
For the B Division, Mark Goodale came in first place behind a score of 125. Mike DiDomizio held down second place by throwing a 114. Ed Turner was third with a 108.
Andy Konefal finished first in the C Division with his score of 84. Dave Ademiec took second by shooting a 81, and Gary Beckwith threw a 78 for third place.
In the team standings, the Dodgers are 58-38 and hold a three-game lead for first place over the Cubs, who are 55-41. The Braves and the Marlins are tied for third as both clubs own a record of 53.5-42.5. The Pirates and the Giants are tied for fifth place with their records of 51.5-44.5. The rest of the standings are as follows: Mets (51-45), Red Sox (50-46), Royals (48.5-47.5), Padres (48.5-47.5), Yankees (47.5-48.5), Tigers (47-49), Cardinals (45.5-50.5), Rangers (45-51), White Sox (44.5-51.5), Indians (43.5-52.5), Orioles (42.5-53.5), Angels (42-54), Astros (41.5-54.5), and Reds (40-56).
