Guilford Junior Legion Wins Two in States Before Getting Eliminated

The Guilford Junior American Legion baseball squad competed in the double-elimination portion of the Northern Division Sectional Tournament in the State Tournament last week. Post 48 recorded a pair of victories before seeing its season come to a close with a defeat against West Hartford.
Post 48 was the No. 4 seed in states and began with a 3-0 shutout of No. 13 Manchester on July 17. Facing No. 5 West Hartford on July 19, Guilford lost by a 13-4 score. Guilford then took on No. 12 seed Wolcott the next day and squeaked out a 4-3 victory to advance to the sectional finals against West Hartford on July 22. Guilford lost to West Hartford 3-1 to finish its season with an overall record of 16-9.
