The Madison Senior Legion baseball team took four losses in Zone 3 action last week before finishing it off with a victory versus Guilford in the back end of a doubleheader. Post 79 moved to 5-10 on the season following these contests.

On June 20, Post 79 faced Middletown for a doubleheader at Palmer Field and lost by finals of 9-7 and 7-0. After that Madison, took on rival Guilford for a three-game series. Madison opened the series at Guilford on June 22 and lost by a 9-2 final. Then on June 24, Post 79 hosted Guilford for a doubleheader at the Surf Club, dropping the first contest 9-0 before bouncing back with a 6-1 win in the nightcap. Chris Hartmann pitched a complete game for Madison in this victory.
