Falivene Earns Props on Connecticut’s All-Star JV Rugby Team
Ben Falivene, who recently completed his sophomore year at Valley Regional High School, has been selected to compete on the Connecticut All-Star junior varsity rugby team. The All-Star squad consists of freshmen and sophomores from clubs across the state. On June 17 and 18, the team competed in the Northeast Regional Challenge Tournament, which is one of five USA Rugby regional tournaments, in Rahway, New Jersey. Falivene and his team went undefeated to win the junior varsity bracket by beating Western, New York (55-0), New Jersey (45-0), and Virginia (15-12). Falivene started at the prop position for the Cheshire Rugby Club, which finished third in Connecticut’s Division 2. Falivene is also a member of the Valley Regional-Old Lyme football program and wrestles on behalf of the Warriors, while training with the team at Morgan High School.
