Daniels Caps High School Field Hockey Career with All-American, All-State Accolades
Francesca Daniels recently completed an exceptional career with the Valley Regional field hockey team and the senior received a nice collection of honors for her achievements in the 2016 fall season.
Most recently, Daniels was one of 12 players from Connecticut and Rhode Island to make the Southern New England Regional All-American Team. Daniels also earned a spot on the All-State First Team for the second straight year after having made the Second Team as a sophomore. On top of that, Daniels played her way to a spot on the All-Shoreline Conference First Team, as well as the New Haven Register All-Area Team and the Hartford Courant's All-Courant Team. She also earned All-State Academic recognition for the Warriors, who won eight games, advanced to the Shoreline Conference final, and qualified for the Class S State Tournament this past fall.
Daniels, who lives in Essex, posted 24 goals with 11 assists in the recent season to finish her high school career with 71 goals and 43 assists. Daniels’s 2016 point total and her career point total are the most on record on the history of the Warriors’ field hockey program.
Daniels was offered admission and a field hockey team roster spot at Amherst College, as well as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.). She has committed to attend and continue her field hockey career at Amherst, a Division III school in Massachusetts.
