North Haven Indian Booster Club Presents Awards for Fall Season

The North Haven High School Indian Booster Club held its banquet for the recent fall sports season on Nov. 17. At the event, athletes who compete for North Haven’s girls’ soccer, field hockey, volleyball, cross country, and girls’ swimming and diving teams were honored for both their academic and athletic success during the fall campaign.

The Indians’ Most Valuable Players were Bella DelVecchio from the volleyball team, Bri Ferriola of the field hockey squad, Angela Gambardella and Lauren Spencer for the swim team, Angela Sanzari in soccer, and Elise Symon in cross country.

For the Most Improved Player Award, Emily Casamento earned that distinction for North Haven’s field hockey team. The other recipients were Reagan Forbes in cross country, Jessica McInnis in volleyball, Mackenzie Montesi for swimming, and Camille Sahirul with the girls’ soccer squad.

The athletes who took home the Sportsmanship Award were Maia Annunziato for cross country, Laura Borrelli from the swimming and diving team, Lindsay Rowland for field hockey, Anna Stowe in volleyball, and Joslin Valiyaveetiil for girls’ soccer.

Additionally, there were many Indians’ athletes who were presented with All-Academic honors from the Southern Connecticut Conference. Those athletes were Annunziato, Stowe, Kate Tullo, McInnis, Olivia Hoyt, Julia Opramolla, Clare Connell, Gillian Regan, Kiersten Winter, Christina Stoeffler, Annie Uyeki, Katie Rogers, Emily Shea, Gillian Grant, Erin Butler, Nicolette Maselli, Valiyaveetiil, Maria Scarano, Maily Tran, Hillary Hoyt, Sanzari, Jasmine Nguy, Lauren Carboni, Michaela Felipe, Mehak Sharma, Casamento, Emily Gibson, Carly Brown, Peyton Davis, Kelly Fresher, Valerie Gimler, Erika Holle, Quinn Kirby, Katie Ryan, Sahirul, Zoe Bowerman, Olivia Petersen, Shannon Reilly, and Reagan Forbes.
