Prep Legion’s Playoff Berth Highlights Summer Season in North Haven

The North Haven Senior American Legion baseball team posted a record of 7-23 this past summer. Victories for Charlie Flanagan’s squad came against East Haven (7-3), Stratford (3-2), Ansonia (4-11 and 11-5), Orange (11-0 and 10-7), plus Zone 2 champion Branford (3-0).

For the Post 76 Junior Legion team, Chris Farina’s club recorded wins against Orange (6-5), Milford (8-6), and East Haven (7-4).

Meanwhile, North Haven’s Prep Legion squad put together a great second half to finish second for Zone 2 action at 11-9, while going 15-10 overall for the regular season. Jake DeRosa’s team then took a 10-0 loss at Wallingford in the second round of the State Tournament to finish 15-11. Among Post 76’s most notable victories were a 5-2 win against Zone 2 champion East Haven, three triumphs over West Haven (7-2, 5-1, and 8-3), plus a 6-1 win versus Stratford.
