North Branford Football Drops Showdown in East Haven
The North Branford football team was unable to stop East Haven’s ground attack in its Nov. 6 loss to the Yellowjackets. East Haven won 37-13 and gained 502 yards on the ground against North Branford’s run defense. With the loss, North Branford’s record now sits even at 4-4.
Shelby Franklin scored both of North Branford’s touchdowns in the loss with one in the first quarter and the other in the fourth. In the first quarter, he scampered home on a 11-yard run. Then in the fourth, quarterback Paul Pastet hit Franklin on a 30-yard touchdown.
Pastet finished 14-of-24 for 197 yards with the touchdown and two interceptions, plus Ryan Reilly had a team-high 52 rushing yards. Franklin paced the receivers with 106 yards through the air and also contributed a team-best 14 tackles.
