07/01/2015 12:00 AMPost 83 improved to 7-3 after beating both Milford and North Haven. On June 24, Branford topped Milford 11-0 behind a solid outing by Jack Spencer. Spencer tossed a complete game two-hitter while striking out two. Jake Baker and Griffin Lynch both had the big hits in the first inning to drive home runs as they batted around in the inning. In the fifth, Post 83 scored four runs to force the mercy rule victory. On June 26, Branford beat North Haven 7-0 as Devon Lawson threw a complete game. He scattered six hits over seven innings and struck out five to earn the win. Mike Hoyt’s walk in the first inning drove in the game-winning run, and then Luke Spivey’s hit drove home two more to extend the lead. DJ Caron had an RBI in the fourth inning and Branford scored four runs in the fifth to put the game away.
