After helping the Castleton State College girls’ lacrosse team finish its conference schedule with a perfect 8-0 mark, defender Emilee Maher of North Branford was honored as the North Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Maher (pictured on the right) was dominant in a 2-0 week for Castleton, helping the Spartan defense only give up total goals. Against New England College, the junior recorded a career-high eight caused turnovers and five ground balls in the team’s 19-4 win. She then was part of the defense that allowed just 13 shots and two in the second half to Johnson State on the way to a 20-3 victory.
