Pictured are Jay Rubino, coordinator William McMinn, Coach O'Rourke, captains Carter Millane, Rob Blundon, Dan Tagliarini, and Bradley Russell.

For the first time ever, Madison will be hosting the State U19 Rugby Championship on Sunday, May 27 at the Madison Surf Club. Twenty-two teams will be competing, including two nationally-ranked squads (Greenwich and Fairfield), and four women's teams. After only three years as a team, Madison will be coming into the competition ranked No. 1 in its division. Coach Jay Rubino credits the seniors for leading the success of this year's team.

"We have a very dedicated group of seniors this year," said Rubino, "Especially, the captains have shown great commitment, giving 110 percent in every game."

Competition begins at 9 a.m. on May 27 and will be played simultaneously on three different fields. Admission is free, but there is a $10 fee for parking.
