Minichino and Palmer Receive East Haven Little League's Shannon Award
Each year, the East Haven Little League (EHLL) selects one male and one female to be the Shannon Award recipient. The award is given by the Shannon family, in memory of the late Warren Shannon, to a graduating athlete in baseball and softball who excels both on and off the field. This year the award was given to Briana Minichino and Alec Palmer. Minichino is in the 8th grade and is an honor student at St. Vincent de Paul School. She is a member of the drama and newspaper clubs and plays softball for the school. She attended the Sound School summer program this past summer. She is starting her 10th year of dancing at All That Jazz. She has played softball for EHLL for seven years.

He was recognized in the Who's Who National Registry of Academic Excellence. Palmer is a volunteer for the American Lung Association of Connecticut, the Connecticut Food Bank, and St. Vincent de Paul Church. He is a member of the East Haven Leadership Program, the East Haven Youth Service Bureau, and the St. Vincent de Paul Youth Choir. In addition to baseball, he plays basketball and cross-country and the bass clarinet. He has played baseball for EHLL for seven years.
