Nurse/Midwife Julia Powers is in charge of the maternity/fever ward, which is understaffed and where medical supplies are scarce. She’s given a young, untrained girl named Bridie to be her runner. Over three days, Julia and Bridie will change each other’s lives in unexpected ways. I found the story most interesting considering our current pandemic health crisis.
