Guilford Poets Guild’s Holiday Roundtable Features 20th Anniversary Anthology

The Guilford Poets Guild will celebrate the publication of its 20th Anniversary Anthology, Our Changing Environment, with a reading by 12 members of the Guild on Thursday, Dec. 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Guilford Free Library, 67 Park Street, Guilford.

The event will begin with an open mic from 6:30 to 7 p.m.

Guests are asked to bring an unwrapped children’s book, new or gently used, to be donated to the Community Dining Room.

Readers for the evening include: Carol Altieri, Evelyn Atreya, Gwen Gunn, Juliana Harris, Norman Marshall, Nancy Meneely, Jane Muir, Patricia H. O’Brien, Jen Payne, Elizabeth Possidente, Edward Walker, and Gordy Whiteman. Poets will read one of their poems selected for the new publication.

Our Changing Environment, edited by Edwina Trentham, features 48 Connecticut poets including members of the Guilford Poets Guild and winners of the 2018 Guilford High School Poetry Contest. It will be for sale at the event ($20) and is also available online at www.guilfordpoetsguild.org and from Breakwater Books in Guilford.

Those wishing to participate in the open mic should bring their own poem. It is open to accomplished and aspiring poets of all ages wishing to present one original composition to a live audience.
