Nibbles: Better Than Bouillon
When I made my chicken Provençal a couple of weeks ago, I noted that the recipe called for two cups of wine as the braising liquid. Instead, I opened a little jar of Better Than Bouillon Roasted Chicken Base and added one and a half tablespoons, stirring it into the hot braising liquid. I have made that recipe many times; it is a nice recipe but this time it was amazing. You can get it online, at Stop & Shop, or many other specialty stores. It costs around $6 for 8 ounces (about 16 tablespoons). It is lower in sodium and is totally natural. I tasted it before I used it and it tastes like real chicken. Boxes of broth do not. The same company also makes beef, vegetable, mushroom, and garlic base, and more, along with organic and reduced-sodium versions. I think you will love this.
