Workshop to Focus on College Essay Writing

A workshop on how to write a winning college application essay will be presented at the Guilford Free Library, 67 Park Street, Guilford by Lynn Haney Trowbridge on Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Her goal is to show students how to write the kind of essay that shows both strengths and passions in a unique voice.

Trowbridge will share insider tips on composing the Common App essay and the Supplemental portions. She will also focus on how to craft an effective scholarship personal statement to maximize a financial aid package.

Trowbridge is a writing coach with many years experience advising young people headed to college or graduate school. The author of 12 books, she has worked for The New York Times, CBS News, and The National Endowment for the Arts.
