The merchants in downtown Chester will be celebrating the summer solstice on Thursday, June 21 with a night of shopping and sipping in the towns shops, galleries, and restaurants.

This night is designed as a Girls Night Out. Women are encouraged to gather their girlfriends and leave the men at home between 5 and 8 p.m. Twenty percent discounts are being offered at most shops.

There will be food and wine available and live music. Shoppers will have the opportunity to round up purchases to the nearest dollar to support Jane Doe No More (janedoenomore.org), a Connecticut-based nonprofit committed to supporting sexual assault survivors.

Dinner reservations are encouraged at Chester restaurants.
