03/07/2018 11:01 PMThe inaugural Cheers for Charity Beerfest at the Essex Steam Train, 1 Railroad Avenue, Essex, will take place Saturday, March 10.
More than 15 local breweries, homebrewers, and cider companies/vineyards will be on tap for tastings. The Drunken Baker, with old-school creations that have an adult flair, and Ted’s award-winning steamed cheeseburgers will be there for food purchases.
Alex Foulkes, a Craft Beer Institute certified cicerone and Penny Lane Pub owner, will be leading the VIP Experience. It kicks off at noon and ends at 1 p.m., with the option to stay until 4 p.m. General admission opens at 1 p.m. and ends at 4 p.m. Tickets are available through the Essex Steam Train Facebook page. Tickets are available by pre-sale only.
Participants will include 30 Mile Brewing (Old Saybrook), Angellini Wines (Centerbrook), Collessi’s Artisan Beer (Centerbrook), Docs Hill Brewing (Westbrook), Epicure Brewing (Norwich), Outer Light Brewing (Groton), Steady Habit Brewing (East Haddam), Steiny’s Brewing (Wallingford), Stony Creek Brewery (Branford), These Guys Brewing (Norwich), Thimble Island Brewing (Branford), Twelve Percent Beer Project (Branford), Willimantic Brewing (Willimantic), and Yankee Cider Co. (East Haddam), plus F&F Distributors and Essex Wine & Spirits.
