The Mystery of Sleep Explored During the Branford Forum
The Branford Forum will open the Fall 2017 series on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. with Yale Professor of Medicine (Pulmonary) and Clinical Professor of Nursing Dr. Meir Kryger. Kryger has pioneered several practical and innovative approaches to managing sleep. He will present his new book, The Mystery of Sleep: Why a Good Night’s Rest Is Vital to a Better, Healthier Life, and answer questions. The discussion will be held at the James Blackstone Memorial Library, 758 Main Street, Branford.
According to a release from Yale University Press, which published the book, it is an “authoritative and accessible guide to what happens when we shut our eyes at night...Kryger’s comprehensive text is a much-needed resource for insomniacs; for those who snore, can’t stay awake, or experience disturbing dreams; and for the simply curious. Uniquely wide ranging, The Mystery of Sleep is more than a handbook; it is a guide to the world of sleep and the mysterious disorders that affect it.
Other upcoming events sponsored by the Branford Forum include:
• Sunday, Oct. 1: Dr. Charles Hill: Cathedrals to Books to Bytes: the end of the modern age
