Amy J. Barry will lead an expressive art and writing workshop for adults on Saturday, July 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library (WWML), 146 Thimbles Island Road, Stony Creek. Attendees will participate in a variety of writing and drawing exercises, including poetry and visual journaling, to explore and expand the creative right side of the brain.

This program sponsored by Friends of WWML is an opportunity to get playful and reflect on one’s own journey in a supportive group environment. Previous writing or drawing experience is not required.

A writer by profession, Barry is a certified expressive arts educator. She completed the professional development training program at Salve Regina University in 2010 and has since facilitated workshops all along the Connecticut shoreline. For more information about Barry, visit www.aimwrite-ct.net.

There is no charge for attendance, but space is limited and registration is required by calling WWML at 203-488-8702 or visiting www.wwml.org. Attendees should bring a notebook or journal and writing implement, and ideally a set of oil pastels.
