Finding the Right Therapist, a Free Presentation
Licensed Professional Counselor Dan Mirandi will be at the Scranton Memorial Library, 801 Boston Post Road, Madison on Tuesday, May 16 at 7 p.m. for a free presentation on finding a therapist that best fits one’s mental health needs. The talk will cover:
• Differences between therapists and their expertise (LPC, PHD, LCSW, PsyD, etc.)
• Useful strategies when searching for a psychotherapist
• Questions to ask a prospective therapist
• How to identify red flags
• What are healthy expectations of therapy
Mirandi invites attendees to ask questions throughout the presentation and afterwards. The talk is free and open to all ages. Registration is preferred at www.scrantonlibrary.org or by calling 203-245-7365.
Mirandi is a licensed professional counselor who has been providing therapy for close to 10 years. He currently works at Bridges Young Adult Services in West Haven as a clinician who treats young men and women ages 18 to 30 for a variety of mental health conditions. Additionally, Mirandi has a private practice in Madison named New Voyage Counseling. Mirandi recently sponsored a presentation at the Scranton Memorial Library focused on family communication skill.
