Holiday Sale of Original Student Art at Lyme Academy College

For the holidays, original drawings, illustrations, paintings, and sculptures created by current Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts BFA students will be available for purchase as one-of-a-kind affordable gifts. All pieces will be shown in the newly restored historic Sill House Galleries from Friday, Dec. 2 to Saturday, Dec. 10.

Lyme’s Student Exhibition Committee has organized the show and the proceeds (cash only) go directly to the individual artists. Admission is free and open to the public Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The opening reception takes place Friday, Dec. 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. All are welcome.

Lyme Academy College programs offer a foundation designed to lead students to advanced articulations, with the goal of enabling them to attain mastery of their media. Many of the exhibiting students have participated in professional exhibitions, and have been commissioned for paintings, children’s book contracts, and even rock band commissions.

Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts is a college of the University of New Haven. Its mission is to educate aspiring artists through a rigorous studio curriculum rooted in figurative and representational art. The College offers a comprehensive liberal arts education essential for advanced critical and creative thought.
