Staff Pick: Big Lou Knows His BBQ

You can take a look at the menu at the Not Just BBQ cart on the East Haven town green, and see that owner Louis Forte has a knack for applewood smoked meats and barbecue. But it’s not until you take your first bite that you can taste the passion behind the food. Everything on the menu is artisan and fresh. The French fries are homemade, the cole slaw is tossed on-site upon order, and there are a handful of legitimate barbecue sauce flavors to choose from. All of this in combination makes for a delicious, one-of-a-kind experience to remember. “Big Lou” know his BBQ. I recommend starting off with the Michael Jordan sandwich to see for yourself.
