A Night Out on Super Bowl Sunday
When Sharon Lewis is looking for a family friendly place to watch the Super Bowl, The Blue Hound Cookery Taproom at 107 Main Street in Ivoryton is on top of her list. “The food is great, particularly the flatbread pizzas, and they’ve got a broad beer selection,” she says. “They also have a shuffleboard table, which keeps my daughter entertained while her dad watches football.” When the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos go helmet-to-helmet on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 6:30 p.m., there’ll be plenty of folks watching from home. But for those who are looking for a night out and a bite to eat, here are a few more suggestions from our readers and staff: Anna Liffey’s Irish Pub at 17 Whitney Avenue in New Haven; Eli’s Branford at 624 West Main Street in Branford; Donovan’s Reef at 1212 Main Street in Branford; Brother Mike’s Madison Sports Bar at 56 Academy Road in Madison; Donahue’s Madison Beach Grille at 1320 Boston Post Road in Madison; Chip’s Pub III at 24 West Main Street in Clinton; Upper Deck Sports Bar & Grill at 359 Boston Post Road in Westbrook; the Rabbit Hole Tavern at 256 Main Street in Old Saybrook; the Red House at 158 Main Street in Deep River; and The Pattaconk 1850 at 33 Main Street in Chester, Do you have another suggestion?
