Maybe I’m an un-fun person, but I can’t tell you how many times someone has recommended a funny book to me that left me barely cracking a smile. Hyperbole and a Half, however, cracked my smiles and actually had me laughing out loud. Though the drawings are crude and her essays might seem simple, Brosh’s humor is derived from her outright honesty and her poignant sincerity. This book isn’t what you think it is—it’s a real surprise, and I loved every minute of it.
