The Shoemaker's Wife by Adriana Trigiani

Like a full-bodied wine you enjoy to the last drop, Trigiani’s novel is one you can enjoy to the last page. She first takes her readers to Italy, where teenagers Enza and Ciro from totally different backgrounds weave the story. They emigrate to America separately, at different times and in difficult circumstances, never believing they would meet again. Fate intervenes and their paths cross, but with many obstacles for each of them. Deep friendships, unending loyalty to families, and love are the themes of this splendid novel.
