02/24/2015 11:00 PMGilead Community Services's Gateway Community Treatment Team in Chester welcomed students from Chester Elementary School's Interact Club Junior/Student Council recently when they delivered items for the clients.
David Norman, a social rehabilitation counselor from the Gateway Community Treatment Team, discussed the program with the school club before Thanksgiving. The club, which is made up of students in grades 3 to 6, is advised by Diana Amara, school counselor; Amy Lippincott, 5th-grade teacher; and Keri Sciuto, 1st-grade teacher. The club asked each grade to bring in specific items for the program. Students enjoyed cookies and juice with the clients during their visit and received a tour of the program.
This special connection has been taking place for several years between the Gateway Community Treatment Team and Chester Elementary School. The clients truly appreciate the generosity of the school, especially having the children visit with them.
