12/16/2014 11:00 PMRecently, more than 500 people and their pups came out to Hammonasset State Park in Madison to Puppy Up! and combat cancer. The day was a tail-wagging success, and the shoreline walk has raised about $35,000 this year. Participants and their pups enjoyed agility, obedience, and K9 officer demonstrations before walking two miles to Puppy Up! against cancer. The shoreline veterinary community showed strong support for the event. Clinton Veterinary Hospital was the Gold Paw Event Sponsor, joined by Guilford Veterinary Hospital, Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center, New Haven Central Hospital, Veterinary Wellness Center of New Haven, and the VCA Hospital in New London.
Founder of 2 Million Dogs, Luke Robinson, was at the event and was in awe at the turnout and support from the shoreline Connecticut community. Folks from as far away as Boston and New York also joined in the walk.
