North Haven Rotary Club Celebrates 62nd Installation of Officers
Debbie Volain, the 2013-'14 president of the North Haven Rotary Club, recently turned the gavel over to a new president at the installation of officers at the Country House Restaurant.
This was the 62nd installation celebration since the club received its charter in 1942. The following officers were installed: Nicholas D'Ambrosia, president; David Marchesseault, president-elect; Mark Minotti, vice president; Brendan McCaffery, secretary; Donna Mae Cangiano, treasurer; and John Costanzo, sergeant-at-arms.
D'Ambrosia presented a Paul Harris Award to a longtime friend, Phil Lennox, for helping countless people, as well as several specific charities throughout his life, including Newington Children's Hospital and the 9/11 Fund. The award represents a $1,000 contribution in the name of the recipient to the Rotary Foundation, known for its major charitable work around the world.
The annual awards and special recognition that were presented by Volain were: Youth Exchange Hosts: Claudia and James Giulietti and John and Theresa Viele; Dedicated Service: Rick D'Norscia; Rookie of the Year: Deana Morin; Sergeant-at-Arms: John Costanzo; Service Above Self: George Guertin; Over the Top: Donna Mae Cangiano; Dedication & Loyalty: David Marchesseault; Paul Harris Awards: Susan Pace, Lauren D'Norscia, and Phil Lenox; Life Time Achievement: Angie Verdini (51 years in NHRC); Rotarian of the Year: David Marchesseault; and Honorary Member: Ellie Mulligan.
