Valley Wins Big at Yale Invitational

Valley's Parliamentary Debate teams of Sam Krempel, Paul Myers, Phoebe Petrovic, Katie Mulligan, Rachael Aikens, Katelynn Maxwell, Jessica Grote, and Ryan Johnson competed in the Yale Invitational National Forensic League Tournament this past fall. The teams debated through five competitive rounds until late in the evening. Finally, eight teams broke into the quarterfinals, and the Valley team of Rachael Aikens and Katelynn Maxwell made it into the final eight. They returned to Yale to face a team from Canada (which eventually went on to win the Parli Division) and lost in a tight match.

The final top 10 speakers were later announced for the Parliamentary Division, which hosted more than 42 teams, and the top speaker was Aikens.
