The Branford Historical Society is delighted to announce it has successfully reached its fundraising goal of $35,000 for its "Raise the Roof" campaign. Thanks to the incredible generosity of donors, the Harrison House Museum and Barn will soon receive much-needed new roofs. The Harrison House celebrates its 300th anniversary in 2024 and this significant milestone ensures the preservation of this historical landmark for future generations.
The "Raise the Roof" campaign was launched by the Branford Historical Society to address urgent repair needs for the Harrison House Museum and Barn. Built in 1724, four generations of Harrisons lived on the property, followed by three more generations of the Linsley family. In 1938, J. Frederick Kelly, a prominent architectural historian, bought the Harrison House and painstakingly restored it. Upon his death, Kelly left the property to Historic New England to be kept and preserved until the Society purchased it in 2016.

"Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we can now move forward with the much-needed roof renovations for the Harrison House Museum and Barn. These buildings hold great historical significance for our community, and this achievement ensures their preservation for generations to come."
