Marie Massaro, 86, of East Haven, formerly of Wallingford, passed away March 25 at home with her nephew Steven and niece Nancy at her side. She was born April 14, 1928, in New Haven to Peter and Frances (Fiorentino) Massaro.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Vincent Massaro and his wife Louise. Marie is survived by her brother Phillip Massaro (Mabel); nephews Steven Massaro (Nancy) of East Haven, with whom Marie resided, Peter Massaro and wife, and Thomas Massaro (Sandy); niece Carolyn Foster and husband; six grandnieces/nephews; and five great-grandnieces/nephews. Marie was a lifelong employee of Safety Electrical Company in Hamden with more than 45 years of service. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cooking, and traveling. The Massaro family wishes to thank the entire Connecticut Hospice staff and the many private home health care aides for the loving care and attention bestowed upon Marie.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. March 30 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. The funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home on March 31 at 9:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, East Haven, with committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
