OLD SAYBROOK
In the month of December 2016 the Old Saybrook Lions Club held a "KidSight" eyesight screening at the Goodwin
Elementary School. This is a free screening program with a goal to screen for eye abnormalities such as
nearsightedness, farsightedness, and irregularly shaped corneas or lenses. The screening is done in minutes, using a "camera," computer and printer in a darkened room. An image is taken of the child's eyes from about 3 feet, then analyzed by a computer; then a computer produces a report to take home to the parent or guardian. The Club tested 304 children and 17 were recommended for further testing.
