Branford Police Incident Report for April 5
The Sound publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in Branford and North Branford. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content. Tuesday, April 5Senior correspondent Jason J. Marchi compiles the Police Incident Report.
• A 22 year-old man of Acorn Road was arrested at 9 a.m. and charged with violation of probation.
• A 45 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 2:30 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.
• A 20 year-old woman of Mill Plain Road was arrested at 5:18 p.m. and charged with burglary in the third degree, criminal mischief in the first degree, larceny in the fifth degree, and conspiracy to commit burglary and larceny.
• A 40 year-old woman of a Briarwood Lane apartment was arrested at 9:35 p.m. and charged with failure to keep a prescription drug in its original container, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, and failure to pay or plead a citation.
• A 24 year-old man of a Briarwood Lane apartment was issued a misdemeanor summons at 6:26 p.m. for failure to have insurance, improper use of marker, operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
• From March 30 to April 5 Branford police also issued 20 citations to motorists for using a hand-held cell phone while driving, 16 citations for failure to obey a control signal, 10 citations for traveling unreasonably fast, six citations for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, four citations for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, and two citations for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license.
