Stabbing Suspect Arrested
North Haven Police responded to a Quinnipiac Avenue parking lot at 5:45 p.m. on Sunday night November 2, 2014 for a report of a stabbing. Estranged brothers were at a local physical rehabilitation facility visiting their father when an argument ensued. The brothers walked to the parking lot to continue the argument. This is where a physical confrontation took place. During the fight, Richard Jeannette, who resides in Meriden, stabbed his brother in the torso. The victim fled to his Hamden residence and called authorities. He was treated on the scene by Hamden Fire Rescue and then transported to an area hospital where he was treated for the non-life threatening injury. 42-year-old Richard Jeannette was taken into custody and charged with Assault First Degree, and Disorderly Conduct. He was held on a $100,000 bond and arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on Monday morning.
