The Thunderbirds’ boys’ lacrosse team played its first game of the season on April 1 and came away with a 9-8 overtime victory on the road against Old Saybrook. Dillon Blake netted the game-winner in the overtime period to help North Branford begin the year at 1-0.

North Branford started the game quickly and held a 7-1 lead at halftime. Brian McKee led the way with four goals for the Thunderbirds, while Connor Odell scored three times, and Blake notched a pair of goals. Blake, McKee, Nick Barrett, and Dylan Martinik finished with one assist for ?North Branford, which saw Noah Taylor made five saves in net to earn the victory.
