Joseph F. Sapper, Jr., 93, of North Haven, died Nov. 6 at the Hospital of St. Raphael.  He was the husband of 65 years to Jane M. Bassett Sapper.  Mr. Sapper was born in New Haven on Oct. 12, 1919, son of the late Joseph F. Sapper, Sr. and Mamie B. Starbranch Sapper. He had served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had also worked in many different departments throughout his career at the former Newton New Haven Die Casting, where he was employed for many years until his retirement.  Mr. Sapper loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. 

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Stephen and Eric Sapper, and two grandchildren, Joseph and Erica Sapper.

Funeral services will be private.  There are no visiting hours.  Private burial will take place in the North Haven Center Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trout Unlimited, Chapter 281, Middlebury, CT  06762. The North Haven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
