Jake MacArthur wed Eve Preus of Seattle, Washington, on May 19, 2012 on Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands, north of Seattle, Washington. The couple celebrated with close family during their destination-wedding weekend.

The groom is the son of John MacArthur and the late Mary MacArthur of Madison. The bride is the daughter of Mary Preus and her husband Bob Crew of Seattle, Washington.

The groom was raised in Madison and is a graduate of Daniel Hand High School. He is an electrical engineer graduate of The University of Virginia and earned a master’s degree in environmental science and management at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at the University of California at Santa Barbara. 

The bride is a graduate of Hampshire College and the University of Washington Medical School. She is currently a medical resident in obstetrics/gynecology at the University of Utah.

Following a honeymoon trip to Nepal, the couple resides in Salt Lake City, Utah.
