Louise Claire Pannone Volpe, 85, East Haven
Louise Claire Pannone Volpe, 85, of East Haven, died on Jan. 11 at the Connecticut Hospice. She was the loving wife of 59 years to Jerry Volpe, who showed total devotion to Louise. Louise was born in New Haven on Aug. 21, 1927, daughter of the late Alexander and Anna Ruoppolo Pannone. Prior to her retirement in 1992, Louise had been the chief clerk for the East Haven Tax office for 23 years. She graduated in 1945 from Commercial High School and had been a resident of East Haven for 52 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Jerry Volpe and his wife Linda, Kevin Volpe and his wife Janice, and Luanna Onofrio and her husband Steve. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Jerry Volpe and his wife Jennifer, Kevin and Amanda Volpe, and Ryan and Paige Onofrio; her great-grandson, Jacob Volpe; and a sister, Marie Somma of West Haven.
Her funeral procession will leave the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 10:15 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Church at 11 a.m., followed by burial in All Saints Cemetery.
