The U-14 North Haven girls’ soccer team recently completed another strong season in which the squad won its third-straight South Central district championship. The athletes who guided North Haven to the three-peat were Elizabeth Carchia, Emily Carchia, Alexis Caruso, Katie Chieffo, Brianna Ellis, Paula Fapiano, Sofia Fapiano, Ada Forbes, Erika Holle, Emily Konopka, Allison Marino, Jenna Mahmoud, Laura Martins, Christina Pienkos, Julia Raposo, Marissa Rappa, Gianna Rella, Samaray Rodriguez, and Taya Stanley. North Haven’s head coach was Marc Stanley, who was assisted by Sarina Dibennedetto and Kyla Stanley.
“I am very proud of my girls for such a strong season. Everyone contributed to scoring and defending, including Emily Carchia, who played exceptional at keeper all season,” Coach Stanley said. “Some of my girls have been on all three championship teams and helped give confidence to the younger players. We started the season slowly, but became better and better week after week. We went undefeated in the league against some very tough competition. I was extremely pleased on how the girls developed their skills and confidence along the season and did not want to lose.”
