Essex Police Incident Report for Sept. 5 to 11
The Valley Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Essex, Deep River, and Chester. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.
Wednesday, Sept. 5 - Monday, Sept. 10
• No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.
Tuesday, Sept. 11
• A 31 year-old New London woman was arrested at 1:16 p.m. and charge with assault in the third degree. The accused was transported to the Middlesex Shoreline Clinic by Old Saybrook EMS after she was found to be highly intoxicated. While being treated, the accused assaulted a member of the clinic staff by kicking her twice in the head and scratching her hand. The accused was released on a written promise to appear in Middletown Superior Court on September 25. The victim of the assault was a 56 year-old woman.
