Emergency workers say a man has died in a house fire in North Branford.

Rescue crews say the unidentified man was killed in the fire that began at about 6 a.m. Friday. Other occupants escaped the burning house.

Firefighters entered the house, but left as the blaze became more threatening. A roof collapsed shortly after firefighter pulled back.

No other details were immediately available.
