Pedestrian Struck on Middletown Ave. Has Died

The pedestrian who was struck by a pick-up truck on Middletown Avenue Wednesday, July 16 has succumbed to his injuries. John Liquori, 20 of North Haven, was pronounced dead at an area hospital shortly after 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 17.
The operator of the pick-up truck, 72-year-old Theodore Spalding, was arraigned in Meriden Superior Court Thursday morning where he answered to the charges of driving while intoxicated and assault second degree with a motor vehicle. Spalding was released from custody after posting a $50,000 bond.
Additional criminal charges will be at the purview of the State's Attorney's Office.
