Just announced, a "Meet the Candidates" forum has been scheduled with North Branford's political contestants, taking place Mon. Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. in Town Council Chambers, at Town Hall on Foxon Road.

The event is sponsored by the North Branford Chamber of Commerce. The public is encouraged to attend.

Residents running for election on Nov. 5, 2013 for the nine open seats on Town Council (two year term) are: Petitioning Candidates Mike Doody and Mark Deming; Republican candidates Rose Marie Angeloni,Anthony Candelora, Joanne Wentworth, Donald Fucci, Ronald Siena, Vincent Caprio and Alfred Rose; Democratic candidates Joseph Faughnan, Andrew Esposito, Daniel Armin, Melinda Fonda, Eric Hodgson and Marie Diamond.

Running for four open four-year term seats on the Board of Education (expiring Nov. 11, 2017) are Republican  candidates Philip Dahlmeyer Jr., Colby O’Rourke,  David McMahon; and Democratic candidates Mary Vilano and Marcey Onofrio. Residents running to fill a BOE two-year vacancy (expiring Dec. 1, 2015) are Republican Theresa Frandsen and Democrat Deb Prunier.
