John V. Marino Jr., 37, East Haddam, formerly of East Haven
John V. Marino Jr., 37, of East Haddam, formerly of East Haven, died in East Haddam on Feb. 27. He was the husband of Alysia Greenwood Marino. John was born in New Haven on Aug.1, 1974, son of Marianne Brustman Onorato of Madison and the late John V. Marino, Sr., who died in 2009. He was also the stepson of Joseph Onorato. John was a 1992 graduate of East Haven High School and later graduated from Quinnipiac University with a degree in computer science. At the time of his death, he was employed as a computer programmer for Open Solutions in Glastonbury. An avid gardener, John liked fishing and crabbing, and he took great joy in teaching these things to his son.
Besides his wife, mother, and stepfather, he is survived by his son, Jake Marino; several aunts and uncles, Albert Marino of East Haven, Anthony Marino and his wife Catherine of Florida, Roseanne Esposito and her husband Chuck of Milford, and Kathleen Marino of New Haven; his siblings, Jeffrey Onorato of Madison, Joseph Onorato III and his wife Toni of East Haven, Shawn Onorato and his wife Debra of Ridgefield, Sabrina Onorato and her partner Megan of Milford, Erica Onorato Martinez and her husband Daniel of Meriden; his maternal grandparents, Clarence and Rita Brustman of East Haven; his in-laws, Stanley and Cynthia Tyska of Wallingford; two brothers-in-law, James Greenwood and his wife Melissa of Guilford and Peter Tyska and his wife Nikki of Wallingford; his sister-in-law, Aimee Greenwood of Hawaii; and many cousins, nieces, and a nephew.
His funeral procession will leave the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, on Saturday, March 3, at 9 a.m., for a mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery.
