More than 400 residents stopped by downtown on Jan. 27 for the Madison Chamber of Commerce’s third annual Souper Bowl event.

Residents tasted soups and chilis from numerous local businesses and non-profits and cast votes for a winner in each category. For the chili contest, Madison Hose Co. No. 1 took first place for the third year in a row; North Madison Volunteer Fire department came in second and Vista took third. For soup, Donahue’s came in first, the Madison Beach Hotel second, and the Madison Senior Center took third.
