Judge Jeannine Lewis Unanimously Nominated as 2022 Democratic Candidate for Saybrook District Probate Court
Judge Jeannine Lewis, who has served as probate judge for the Saybrook District Probate Court since her election in 2018, was unanimously endorsed at the May 12 Democratic Judge of Probate Nominating Convention as the Democratic candidate for probate court judge in the upcoming November election. Lewis was endorsed by the Democratic delegates representing the nine towns of Chester, Clinton, Deep River, Essex, Haddam, Killingworth, Lyme, Old Saybrook, and Westbrook.
The delegates noted that, as an essential worker, Lewis had tirelessly served the community throughout the height of the pandemic, advocating for the area’s most vulnerable residents in nursing homes, keeping estates moving forward, and keeping real estate transactions on track for local residents and attorneys. The delegates agreed that Lewis’s strong advocacy skills and ability to meet community need in the face of unexpected circumstances made her far and away the best candidate for the position.
Lewis has devoted her entire legal career to matters involving probate. She lectures regularly, both in the local community and around the state, to probate judges and attorneys on general probate topics, probate avoidance, scams targeted at seniors, and elder abuse.
