Chan Competes in CIAC Heptathlon for North Branford
North Branford’s Winnie Chan gave the CIAC Heptathlon a try on June 13 at Willow Brook Park in New Britain and she finished in 38th place with a total of 1,629 points scored. Chan scored all of her points by competing in four of the seven events.
In the 100-meter hurdles, Chan placed 42nd at 19.54 seconds to score 341 points. She followed that up with a 544-point performance in the high jump by finishing tied for 11th with a leap of 4 feet-8.25 inches. In the shot put, Chan placed 28th with a throw of 23 feet-2.75 inches to record 340 points. In her final event, Chan placed 56th in the 200 at 31.16 to score 404 points. She did not compete in the long jump, javelin, or 800-meter run, which were all held on the second day of the competition
