Old Saybrook Memorial Day observations begin on Monday, May 25 with a waterside, full naval ritual with a rifle salute at 9 a.m. followed by a parade at 10 a.m.

The day’s events will begin with a Dockside Naval Ceremony. Assembly is at 8:45 a.m. for all participating units at the Saybrook Point Pavilion parking lot, located at the end of College Street, with a Wreath Laying Ceremony on the Connecticut River at 9 a.m.

The parade assembly will be at 9:30 a.m. at the Stop & Shop parking lot. The parade steps off promptly at 100 a.m. from Elm Street. The parade will go straight across Route 1 to Main Street to the Veterans Memorial Monuments on the Town Green, where a Memorial Program will be conducted. Because of safety concerns, those marching or riding in the Memorial Day Parade are reminded to not throw candies or novelties to anyone on either side of the parade route.

Westbrook will mark Memorial Day with a ceremony—and a new parade route—on Monday, May 25. This year, the parade begins and ends in the parking lot behind the former town hall, known as the Riggio Building. The parade departs the Riggio building parking lot at 10 a.m., heading south on Route 1 and then left onto South Main Street for a short ceremony at the cemetery on South Main Street. The march will resume to the end of South Main Street and go straight onto Route 1, passing Kingfisher Lane and Dunkin Donuts. At the intersection of Route 1 and Wesley and Seaside avenues, the parade turns right onto Wesley Avenue then turns right onto Old Clinton Road for a short ceremony at Clark’s Bridge. The parade continues east on Old Clinton Road to Route 1 and then proceeds clockwise around the Green. There will be a ceremony at the War Memorial on the Town Green.

Clinton holds it Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 25, with marchers lining up at Post Office Square at 10 a.m. for an 11 a.m. parade start.

The veterans of Clinton invite everyone who served their country to join them in the 2015 Clinton Memorial Day Parade. There is no need to be a member of the VFW or American legion, or even a resident of Clinton. The organizers’ goal is to have 200 veterans together in the parade.
